Thomas Aka Mike's Story
Well now.after I left high school I went in to the US NAVY.I served almost 4 years during that time I made 3 overseas trips to Vietnam the Philippines,Johnson Island,Japan,Okinawa and Hawaii.After I left the Navy I went to work for a aerospace company named Tech Aero in North hollywood Calif. I worked there for Two Years I got married during that time and my first daughter was born in Oct of 1970.My wife at that time decided to have an affair with someone and left me. I went to Missouri after that for two and a half years and worked in Kansas City working as a mechanic at Troost Wood Garage for about year.Then in 1973 I started working with afriend hauling milk in ten gallon milk cans for the Amish farmers around Marshfield Missouri this was a job that was done 365 days a year in snow,rain,summer heat because cows need milking twice a day was a lot of work but when you young you can handle it.Now on to 1974 I left Missouri and came back to Calif and went to work for K-Mart at there Northridge Store in the Automotive Dept working on cars.Later on I was promoted to service manager in the ga...Expand for more
rage area and was transfered to the Thousand Oaks store were I stayed till 1977.I then went to work for Bunnin Chevrolet in Culver City writing service for customers who needed their cars repaired or having the cars serviced for oil changes.I left there and went back to K- Mart because the dealership where I was working at was a rip-off.So back to K-mart till 1978 I left there and went to work for Lalo's Automotive in Canoga.I left left there and went to work for Valley Cab in Van Nuys till April of 1979.In april of 1979 I went to work for RTD the bus company that is now MTA or METRO. I remarried in 1983 and have another daughter who is almost 24 years old her sister is 41 years old from my first marriage I have four grandchildren two girls and two boys and one greatgrand son.I just retired from MTA after 32 years and 9 months of working in West Hollywood. Now I just have to get use to the idea that I am Retired and and I don't have to get up at 1AM anymore to go to work.Well this is most of my story.Hope it makes for good reading.Hope to hear from some other grads and friends.Mike Blatz
